The Ecosocialist Alternative to Austerity
Friends Meeting House, Mount Street, Manchester
On March 26th half a million of us marched through London for “the alternative”. On 2nd October we marched through Manchester, again for “the alternative”. But what is the alternative to cuts and austerity?
The TUC version of the alternative is for government investment to promote growth. But would that strategy work? And what price will the ecosystem end up paying for “growth without limit”?
Is economic growth really the only alternative to cuts and austerity? Should “environmental” concerns be put on the back burner until the serious business of restoring growth has been dealt with? If not, how do we protect our jobs and living standards while at the same time protecting the ecosystem upon which we all rely for our very survival?
Manchester Ecosocialists is an informal and inclusive group which organises open discussions and debates on issues of vital concern for the future of humanity. Join us on 7th December in the Friends Meeting House. All welcome.
