I was going to call this post “A CURE for all our ills,” but you can get too tricksy about these things, and I have been reliably informed that puns don’t work in blog post titles…
There’s a launch coming up for the Centre for Urban Resilience and Energy, formerly the Centre for Urban and Regional Ecology, at the University of Manchester.
“The new CURE brings together social scientists from across the University who are studying energy / climate and environmental issues in urban contexts, from fuel poverty and energy vulnerability, to climate resilience and low carbon transitions, underpinned by complexity and foresight methods.
“The transformation of CURE will be marked by a launch event on 18 November at 5.15pm with a keynote lecture on ‘Energy Transitions’ by Professor Harriet Bulkeley (University of Durham). The lecture itself will commence at 5.30 pm; it will be preceded by an introductory session chaired by our own Professor Simon Guy, and will be followed by a wine reception. Please join us to celebrate!”
