Newsflash: #Manchester Council has new Exec for Environment – Cllr Kate Chappell

Councillor Kate Chappell (Rusholme) is the new Executive Member for the Environment.

katechappellOn Tuesday night, following a re-arrangement of the portfolios of the nine member Executive, she handily beat three other candidates to secure the approval of the Labour Group.  She takes over the role from Councillor Nigel Murphy, who was in post from 2010.

Her responsibilities will include Environment, Licensing and Planning.

MCFly will try to secure a statement and an interview from her at the earliest possible.time.

    I suppose this makes it even less likely that I will get a response from her re my recent email about how TfGM will spend their grant cash for cycling facilities.

    Do you think she will be able to help out with obtaining grabbers for a forthcoming litter pick? Lets put her to the test she’ll either earn her stripes or she wont.
