   Many of the denialists are, of course, driven by by selfishness and self-interest – but it doesn’t help that they grew up in a culture which still regards the environment to be irrelevant. The fact that, in the face of an economic crisis (caused, of course, by selfishness and self-interest), our politicians have now down-graded the importance of the various environmental problems that we face, only serves to emphasise this fact.
