Video: Rough history of UNFCCC process 1988-2019 #climate

So, this is off the top of my head – probably should do a powerpoint-y style thing?

Is this useful to anyone?  Comments, critiques welcome.

Other topics that should be covered? Maybe something on UK and esp Manchester? Something on the smugosphere, emotacycles?  Something else?

  1. John Englart says:

It was a really big campaign at COP21 to get the 1.5C target included, as well as just transition. Without this campaign by Small Island and Developing States and the climate NGOs, we would not have had the Special report on 1.5C and would likely have the 2C goal cemented in, which has been shown to be not a particularly safe target. I think it is very hard to achieve the 1.5C goal at this time, while 2C also poses big transformations and difficulties.
One of the prominent demands by Greta Thunberg is for politicians to unite behind the science.
