The following is by Pia, who lives in South Manchester.
I went down with my mum and her friend.
I wasn’t sure what to expect because I hadn’t been to anything related to Extinction Rebellion before, but my mum and her friend had.
It was truly eye opening for me I didn’t realise I knew so little about what is yet to come and what is already happening due to climate change!
I was in Parliament Square and they had a stage set up with speakers coming from every where to talk about this serious matter. We heard an amazing poet and and environmental scientists speak. There was also activities for families so it felt like everyone and anyone could be included.
Later on I volunteered; helping giving out flyers and making sure people knew the terms that’s where made by Extinction Rebellion to keep the peace.
I had a really good time there and felt like I was part of something amazing!
